In 2016 I retired after a 30 year career managing biological field stations: first at the U. of Calif. Sweeney Granite Mtns. Desert Research Center followed by Stanford University's Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve ‘Ootchamin ‘Ooyakma. My career and subsequent retirement travels have privileged me with visiting over 100 field stations and marine labs. The photos you see reflect that career along with my travels and explorations. For most of us, taking pictures is all about preserving memories. While this is important and something I often do, I view my photography as a means for creating memories. I am usually agreeable to sharing my photos with nonprofits, especially if used for educational, research, and public outreach purposes. If you have any comments or thoughts about my photos, please feel free to share them with me. In the coming months I will be adding captions, identifications, photos and new portfolios ias I find time to process them properly. I also intend to create collections tied specifically to biological field stations and marine labs. |
